After the 30-in-30....

It has been several days since I painted the last brushstrokes on the 30th painting in the January 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.  The break from my paint brush has been good.  Driving by an unfamiliar marsh is more relaxed - I'm not constantly wondering if that scene is my next painting.  But I will confess the "that scene would be a good painting" has crossed my mind more than once since the end of the Challenge.

Today, though, I had fun creating Valentine's Day cards for my grandkids.  And one for an extra special person.  My idea for this year's Valentine's Day cards was to buy those cards like we exchanged in grade school.  They came in boxes of 30 or so - a typical class size.  My semi-weekly trip to grocery store was not successful in the Valentine card search, but I did find a package of pretty lace doilies.  Then, yesterday, a trip to the local drugstore yielded a package of Valentine's Day cards similar to what I had in mind.  32 Valentines.  8 pages of 4 designs.  There were many "character" choices.  Mickey Mouse, Cinderella.  There were some 3D animals.  And lots of characters I did not recognize.  Snoopy, though, I knew well.  I went home with a package of Snoopy Valentines.

Scissors, a glue stick, the lace doilies, and the Snoopy Valentines.  Not oil paints and birch boards.  But just as rewarding.......

Valentines

Part of my time since finishing the last painting in the 30-in-30 Challenge has been spent updating my website with the paintings.  They are all there now - complete with "Buy Now" buttons.  Prices include shipping.  Be sure to check it out.  One of them would make a great Valentine's Day gift.  (click here for the collage of all 30 paintings)

Thanks for stopping by.
