Thinking of summer.....

This tomato had me longing for summer, the taste of tomatoes right out of the garden and tomato pies.  It has the look of a delicious garden tomato, but was purchased at my local grocery store and isn't nearly as tasty as it looks.  Labeled "heirloom tomato", I've found they taste better than some of the other offerings, but they still aren't the same as a summer tomato right off the vine.  

This one, though, made a perfect model in my painting for today and I had fun painting it.  Double-duty tomato, too, because it made it into the salad for dinner!
