My intention when I started this painting yesterday was to finish it yesterday. For various reasons, that didn't happen, but I did finish it up this morning. This is another in what I've been thinking of as "The Little Bird" series. It was painted on a 5" x 5" canvas that is 1 1 /2" deep, so it can sit on a shelf or hang on a wall.
We have lots of Eastern Bluebirds living nearby. On the carport near my studio there is a bird house that one pair likes to nest in every year. I've spent many hours watching the parents feed the babies.

Tomorrow, I plan to get back to work on the fawns (see post on Feb. 5th). I'm looking forward to working on that larger canvas again and watching these two come to life.
