After a fair bit of time struggling with the what to do with a background, I decided that there wasn't anything I liked better than the plain background I started with. I did cover the background with oil paint pretty much the same color as the original tone of the canvas, but this background is a bit cooler than the first, I think.I'm still planning on entering this painting in the Helping Paws Exhibition sponsored by the Canine Art Guild. The show opens December 15th. Check back here for a link. A portion of the sales from this painting will be donated to the Yancey County Humane Society in Burnsville, North Carolina.
