For Day 17 of the 30 in 30 Challenge, I decided to try another abstract.  I went through my stack of boards and found one with an interesting woodgrain pattern.  My plan was to paint just the golds and oranges of the marsh.  But, when I put the board on my easel, I could "see" a cloud and sky in the pattern, too.
First thing I did was to paint a line of burnt sienna along each of the lines of the woodgrain. Then, I filled in colors between the lines. This was fun!!
